program for providing necessary existential needs |

"maliVEliki ljudi" started a program for providing crucial and necessary things for children with special needs in shelter "Sveta Petka" near Paraćin, in January 2005. Until this moment, many companies and people of good will, had become a part of this program. This program is also expanded to providing necessary means for the therapy.
At Home for children with special needs, which is part of "Saint Petka" shelter, live 92 female children with the most difficult mental and physical disorders. They spend all their life inside this home. The youngest one is 6 years old and the oldest is born in 1932. Half of them is immobile...
This is only one, of the many homes, placed deep in the provincial countryside where children are almost forgotten and taken care only by sisterhood and local center. As far as professional help is concerned, there are some visits from medical staff from Paraćin. |

Goal of this program is to provide crucial needs for the Home during whole year, including food, medications, hygienic supplies and other things that can help these children. Research team in "maliVEliki ljudi" is gathering information about things, that Sisters need for the children, every two months and according to the needs, we are gathering supplies and sending them to the shelter. |

Beside providing necessary supplies, "maliVeliki ljudi" are working on shelters' arrangment of living space for children. Together with the Sisters, we realized the necessity of improving life conditions in the shelter.
- Uphosletring the walls of living room in order to protect children from self-injuring, because of an epileptic and other attacks, caused by different psychological disturbances.
- Painting the walls in the living-room has already been done because there was nothing else but grey, empty walls and kids who are spending all their life inside that living-room.
- Musical theraphy. All necessary means are provided.
- At the moment, we are working on improvement of living area and exterier.
At the moment, "maliVeliki ljudi" are working on
building floors for thermal insulation inside the shelter. |

Airport "Nikola Tesla" Beograd has started "Sveta Petka" Program. Beside the Airport, many other companies had become a part of this program. All of them are donors who are recognizing needs of children, who can't help themselves. |
